What in the world is going on?

About half a million people were evacuated from their homes as there was a warning that a powerful Cyclone was heading towards eastern India. The Cyclone is known as Phailin. The  Cyclone washed away tens of thousands of mud and thatched roof huts.

Some of the World Strongest storms in recent history have passed the Bay of Bengal,Including the cyclone in 1999 that killed about 10,000 people.
The Cyclone (Phailin) damaged many coastal homes.
